Let's Get It Started
Now that the baby boom has quieted down, I have a chance to get started on (and hopefully finish) a cotton sweater for my Mom's birthday in August. I think it will look terrific on her.
I'm making Marika with discontinued Jaeger Albany from my stash for the torso and Kitty for the lacier top part and sleeves. I think she'll like it.

So far, there are two hitches in the getalong: (1) working with tape yarn is annoying because it twists and I have to untwist it every couple of rows, and (2) seems I am without the size 6 circs I need for the sleeves. The needle thing is being rectified as we speak. Besides, I'm a long way from the sleeves. What concerns me more is that I'm wondering what I may be doing wrong, technique-wise to make the yarn twist.
If anyone has insight into this, please share.

I crocheted a ribbon yarn purse and the yarn kept twisting and twisting, I gave up on untwisting it and the purse turned out just fine (I'll post a picture when I get home tonight so you can see it). I'm not sure if knitting with it twisted will give you a bad result, but crochet twisted was just fine. I hope this helps in some way...
