A Whole New Bag
I vowed to myself recently (very recently) to cut way back on the yarn related purchases - especially since I have enough yarn to keep me in stitches for years to come. It's one-day-at-a-time, but the vow to limit yarn purchases has been kept. In the past two weeks, I've spent less than $100 dollars on yarn, needles, and buttons. Hey, for me, capping the spending at $100 is progress.
I did, however, break my rule yesterday. See, I came across this knitting bag and try as I might to find something else that would work, I kept coming back to Mimi's Creations and Custom Totes on eBay. I checked out all my options, bypassing the popular (and expensive) Jordana Paige bags, the cute but not as practical Lantern Moon baskets and the various tote / messenger bags that could be used for the purpose of stylishly carrying my projects on the go.
Mimi's is great because, for a very reasonable amount of money, you can customize the bag's fabric, closure, and trims. In addition, the bag itself is made for KNITTING - not a diaper bag that has been pressed into other duty. It's got reinforced pockets around the inside perimeter for hooks, straights and circs, as well as patterns and other small necessities like tapestry needles and tape measures. Big plus is the 12-inch drop on the sturdy-looking handles - perfect for comfortably tucking the bag over your shoulder.
I find myself filled with anticipation for my new bag. Why don't you find yourself over at Mimi's for yours.

Love the knitting bag! I can see why you couldn't resist it.
As for the self inflicted yarn probabtion, I say HA! I have tried to do that at least 3 times lately with no success. Good luck!
must. resist. urge. at least until stitches, whereupon i may have auxilliary fundage. or at least that's the plan.
having a hard time whenever i see the the four letter word: S-A-L-E. i go wild.
Hi - I got almost the EXACT same bag from Mimi's a while back!! I just omitted the polka dot ribbon, and chose the button/loop closure. Have you gotten yours yet?? I can't tell you how much I love this bag!! It actually MAKES me want to knit more!
Kathy,
Just got my Mimi's yesterday and am already using it today. It's so perfect because I can carry my projects with me and still have plenty of room for the normal stuff that would go into my purse.
This rocks!
