Shrug Your Shoulders
As promised, here are the pictures of my rather Victorianesque shrug. Materials: 2 skeins of TLC Cotton Plus in Spruce
Gauge: approximately 6-7 stitches per inch using 10.5(US) needles
Time to complete: 2 weeks, off and on
I thought a shrug would look oddly out of proportion on a more (ahem) endowed frame, but (shut my mouth!) it works.

My, my! That is just spectacular! Looks great on the dummy, and I am curious how it looks on a human body. I always thought that having the sleeves frame the bust like that makes the more-endowed among us look.... heavy, but am I wrong?
Oooh lala! Can I knit one too? Would you mind giving us a modeled shot? Like Kathy, I'm very curious about how it looks on a real person with, well, boobs.
Okay, I of the ample shoulders am looking forward to a pattern for this one! I like it! Not too frilly, yet not plain-jane, either.
Wow - that is beautiful! I'm not really a shrug person, but I think I would actually wear that. It is so pretty! And I second the request for modeled photos. :)
You made up the pattern yourself? I agree with all the girls who left comments here ... it's just spectacular!
OMG, you guys flatter me! Thank you so much for the compliments.
Regarding a pattern, I've never written one but just might give it a try. Prolly need a test knitter because I made it to fit my proportions...
Let's see what I can do about a picture. I just got a tripod today, so all I can say at this point is "watch this space."
If you need a test knitter, here I am!
Ditto on the test knitter front - that is beautiful!
This is my first visit - great blog! I linked through from Grumperina to check out your shrug - it is fabulous. Great job!
Very pretty! First visit - I'm in Chicago too!
Wow! That is beautiful! Love it! One of the best designs I have seen in a while!
My little inner voice says most shrugs are just unfinished sweaters -- but now I Get It. Yours is lovely!
Gorgeous! I love all the details. Let me know if you are looking for another test knitter!
I also LOVE this! Would love to test knit it as well!
do you need more test knitters? this is EXACTLY the type of shrug I have been looking for (did the OSW... i looked awful in it). let us know when you get the pattern up!
That looks absolutely beautiful! If you need another test knitter... :)
Just found your blog and I will be back for another visit!
are you going to make this pattern available to us? it's so great! really amazing! i really want to make one too!
Chic Knit's Bonne M link got me here - great shot of you there wearing the shrug. It IS one of the best shrugs I've seen too! I am partial to the spruce green but the stitch pattern and added rosettes make it really cool. Yes - I'd make it too if you tell your fans.... Thanks for sharing your creation! Terry in SF
I FOUND THE SHRUG PATTERN at your August 05 archives! It's wonderful! Thanks so much. Terry in SF
