I'm Board

My new design hasn't progressed much beyond a sketch and a general stitch, sleeve style and sizing plan. The good news is that the burgundy Jaeger I plan to use for it has arrived.

Meanwhile, there are miles (and commitments) to go before I knit. Currently on the blocking board? The front and back of my Mom's sweater, plus a kid mohair scarf in a feather and fan pattern. Admittedly the F&F is hard to make out with fuzzy yarn, but this is what accounts for the undulating pools of color bands on the scarf. I think it's quite nice.

Currently on the board
I also hooking up a hat to match - just in time for a cool blast of fall weather in these parts. I swear, the temperature must've dropped 20 degrees in two hours this evening!

"Where are the sleeves for the sweater," you might ask? They are on the needles at present and should not require blocking. This time, I'm doing something different: working both sleeves simultaneously. Takes the same amount of time, natch, but at least when I'm done, I'm DONE!

Cher - the more you do it, the better you get at it and the faster you'll be able to go. Trust me, when I first started knitting & crocheting I was so slow and my crochet pieces would become triangles instead of squares. My knitted scarf had a big hole in it, Mom told me to rip it out and do it over, I said NO WAY! If you keep at it, you'll get better and better and more adventurous, and before you know it you'll be able to create beautiful things just like Ms. K!

K, I wanna know what yarn you used on the scarf too!!

For those wanting their own "undulating pools of color," the yarn is Brooks Farm 100% Kid Mohair. Although I picked up several 500 yard skeins at Stitches fiber fest, you can buy it online at:

http://brooksfarmyarn.com/

PA - you always have the opportunity to see it in person!
