It's My Turn
Yes, I've been meme tagged by Miss McSpazzitron. So here goes my little personal stuff "reveal":
Ten Years Ago
I was winding down my second career as a broadcast journalist. My station had been gobbled up by a large communications conglomerate and they decided that a rock music station didn't really need news. I knew I couldn't go back to being a pure techie, but as luck would have it, I met the WWW. This was to become my future. It was a love match between technology and communications which has continued to evolve.
Five Years Ago
I was on medical leave, recovering from surgery that had me pretty much flat on my back for two months. I was just about to return to work as a senior e-business analyst at a branding and advertising agency.
One year ago
I was (once again) contemplating my life and my work. A lot had happened to me in the 3 years prior and I was falling apart - both physically and emotionally. Definitely time for some changes. I decided I needed to keep walking forward instead of dwelling on past yuckiness and unfortunate circumstances.
Five Snacks
1. Pringles
2. Taquitos
3. Candied ginger
4. Pizza-flavored Combos
5. Terra chips
Five songs I know all the words to - only five?
1. Jesus Christ Superstar (entire cast album)
2. ABBA Gold (entire album)
3. Foo Fighters' Monkey Wrench
4. My Kind of Town (Chicago is)
5. Most Patsy Kline songs
Five things I would do with $100 million
1. Quit my job
2. Pay the mortgage on my Mom's house and buy her another one in Paris
3. Go back to school to study linguistics, anthropology, psychology, and HCI
4. Buy a bigger home with lots of land so I could take care of abandoned animals
5. Give big donations to my favorite charities and set up trusts for them in the future.
Five places to run away to
1. Florence
2. Amsterdam
3. Japan
4. New Zealand
5. San Francisco
Five things I would never wear
1. Tight pants of any kind
2. Anything revealing my upper arms, boobage, or tummy
3. A denim suit
4. Gold or silver lame'
5. A thong
Five favorite TV shows
1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
2. Sex and the City
3. Any of the "Law and Order" shows
4. Just about anything on HGTV
5. CSI (the original in Las Vegas)
Five biggest joys
1. Great jokes and wordplay, followed by uproarious laughter
2. Yarn. Yarn. Yarn.
3. People who are smart, honest and sincere, aka, my friends and my Mom
4. My cats, past and present
5. Imagining the smell of fresh coffee as I lie in bed early on a Saturday morning, looking forward to a day with absolutely no schedule or commitments.
I know I'm s'pose to pass this on, but I'm tempting fate by breaking the chain. If, however, you want to follow this meme, simply copy the top bits and paste it into yer own blog. Fun and educational!

Thanks for participating in the meme. I enjoy reading these kinds of things on people's knitblogs since I feel like I know what people like to knit, but perhaps not much else.
I hope you start feeling better soon. Would love to see the results of the surgery on your mom's sweater. I think I would have passed out from vicariously stressing out over taking scissors to knitting! Congrats on rescuing the sweater!
I love Buffy! Did you know that Spike is now going to be a regular on Smallville this season? Apparently with brown hair and no accent... weird, huh?
