Now I Know Why This Is So Much Fun!
Yes, ladies and gents: I finished my first felted item! Some hot water, a little Ivory liquid, a pair of sneakers and within 5 minutes, we have achieved FELT. It's a little bit of magic taking place inside my Kenmore top-loader. Not too shabby for the first time out. Plus it will actually be usable as a project bag:

I've picked out some more Malabrigo 6-ply merino and found a pattern for felted clogs. My friends and I will have some toasty tootsies during this Chicago winter.
Another bonus: perhaps wearing these will keep me from breaking any more toes (ouch)!

Can't wait to see what you do next!
Thanks, Ladies!
I'd actually like to make Bonne Marie's bucket hat in addition to some clogs.
Nice pom-pom over at B-M's too!!! :)
if you like felt bags check out knitkits dot com for great patterns. Or check your LYS for them. Came across your blog on a convuluted trip from Mason Dixon knitting.
It's fabulous!!! The pattern is great. I can't believe that is your first attempt-you rock.
It's great! I remember it from the winding party, and it's so exciting to see the transformation! Beautiful colors, a fabulous shape, and a very handy size!
