But The Fortune Cookie Said So!
"You should be able to undertake and complete anything."Or so the mocking little twist of a cookie proclaimed. Sadly, it was not to be with my Olympic Knitting challenge. But you probably already knew that, based on the lack of progress posts - or any posts at all for that matter.
A combination of illness (mine and Madame Sylvia's) plus pure exhaustion has left me shy of completing my lovely lace and bead endeavor. Truth is, I haven't picked up sticks in nearly 10 days, despite my fervent wish to ride the wave of encouragement from my faithful friends. As I write this, I still feel a bit of the woozy-headedness and coughing which have been my lot since before the torch was lit.
I will finish the scarf as it is a surprise gift for a wonderful family friend, but not by any stretch of the imagination will I reach the cast-off party by tomorrow.

The Olympics isn't always about winning the gold. Your scarf will be beautiful when it is finished. Hope you're feeling better! :)
It's shocking the number of Americans that have choked in this Olympics. At least you didn't skid on your ass over the ice like Sasha Cohen did. ;-)
This is why I consider fortune cookies just another of the irresponsible, unaccountable American media...
You will finish, and it will be beautiful. I have complete faith.
The Olympics isn't always about winning, sometimes it's just about competing and finishing...in your own time. You will finish, and it will be beautiful. And you will get better!
My poor child! I am so sorry to hear you are feeling so poorly -
Sometimes, knowing when to just let go is the SUCCESS...
You WON! :)
Feel better soon...
Curse the sick bug!
Can I say this again? You guys are the rockin' best!
You did your best, you spread your knitting wings...just take care and feel better!!
