Knittin' To See Here
You may have noticed an increased frequency of posting lately. For reasons I will not go into here, I've been on bed rest. This does not, however, mean my hands have been idle. I've actually been putting the time (and my goodly stash) to use for a change.
Before the April 1 stash flash, I promised a progress picture of the green and raspberry sweater vest. I've actually finished the front of the piece, with its wonderful chunky cable ribbing. Michelle's Fun With Yarn in the "Sizzle" color will be used to finish the neckline and around the armholes. Should be lovely!

I've also made good use of the Rowan All Seasons Cotton in the "Orkney" colorway, making a cute gender-neutral baby kimono and hat. The mom-to-be doesn't know if the baby is a boy or girl, so the soft golden yellow should be fitting in either case.

Lastly, my Cascade Fixation arrived yesterday and I couldn't help but start sock number 3. Number 2 in Regia Cotton Surf began life the day before while I waited in the doctor's office. You sock knitting addicts are correct: these are the perfect portable projects! Pictures to come once they advance beyond the ribbing stage.

I like the way the sweater vest looks. Very pretty. And here's something funny for ya: I have one of those exact same turtle lamps! We use it as a night light for our 3yr old's room because he loves it so much.
I also have 6ish skeins of ASC in Orkney, too. Bought off Cucumberpatch on ebay because it was on clearance. Love the color and your edging is so sweet.
Love the vest and the baby sweater is so CUTE!! Great use of ASC!
The cables on your vest look great, and the baby gift is adorable - love the colors.
I just got some Cascade Fixation as well, but it is for a class I am taking for a toddler sun dress in May. Can't wait to see pics of your Fixation socks. Have a good weekend.
OK, I have to know... did you strand the bottom sections of the vest to get it to be both pink and green?
And welcome to the sock knitting hysteria!
this kimono is lovely, which pattern did you use?
