Socky, Socky Now
I may be new to this whole sock knitting thing but, as someone mentioned in the Comments section for my first sock, it is so addictive because of the "quick completion" instant gratification factor. Witness the rather colorful Cascade Fixation sock:

Yes, that is indeed a purple heel. Once the foot is done, these socks will be capped with matching purple toes! See, the recipient / model loves purple and green.
You may recall that I mentioned some grafting difficulties with sock numero uno? In steps Debi to the rescue with her tutorial and a link to the artisan who handcrafted her beautiful darning egg. Score one for me in Canary wood!

Once this pair is done, I'm back to the back - of the v-neck vest, that is. Must be done in time for my trip to Amsterdam (squee!) later this month. And no, I have not forgotten about the beaded lace scarf. I spoke to the giftee this morning and frankly, it is just too bloody hot in Florida for alpaca right now.

Your sock is beautiful and that egg...hubba hubba :)
Another great thing about socks...the colors are explosive and you never get bored (except once in a great while on sock #2). I love the purple and green - nisch!
