Knitting, Amsterdam Style
Yes, I made it back late last night (or early this morning, according to the body clock) after a 5-hour layover somewhere in Ohio. Not only was it great to get away from the everyday, I actually got some stitching done.
First, I'd like to introduce you to Hester and Clasca, two of the fine knitters belonging to SnB-Amsterdam. Here they are at the regular Monday night hangout, the Cafe de Jaren on Niewe Doelenstraat. Surprisingly, the ladies tell me that knitting hasn't caught fire in the Netherlands quite yet -- at least not nearly to the extent that it has in North America.
Hester is just coming back to knitting after a long hiaitus and has decided to rediscover her skills with a fluffy purple stitch sampler. Clasca is branching out from sweaters to make a drop-stitch scarf for a teddy bear.

And me? Although I took the smashing Lorna's Laces to start on a pair of socks, I really wanted to make some headway on the baby sweater. I'm way beyond the ruffle now.

Oh, ja. Some of Dani's yarn arrived while I was away. What ever shall I do?
Where are the windmills and tulips, you may ask? I mean, it is Holland after all. Enjoy one of the views from the Keukenhof, the world's largest flower garden!
