Half-baked
I love it when that occasional burst of knitting energy hits. Couple that with a silky yarn and a pair of smooth ebony needles and voila! You've got half a camisole in a matter of days. Fingers crossed and I'll have a finished object to show in the near future. Thanks to those who opined on going with the "wrong" side of the fabric. I keep looking at the completed half and thinking how pretty it is. Not really capturing it in this artificially lit shot but I think you get the gist. By the way, the orange ball of Scheepjes cotton blend yarn tucked in the V of the back will be used for the picot trim. I trotted out some of the other colors in this "Flame" bamboo but it was sort of Goldilocks: too saturated, too pale, not "wow" but it'll do fine.
Now on the feline front, I've had to consult an animal behavior specialist because the tuxedo kitty (Elvis) insists on scaring the bejeesus out of my meek, neurotic baby Nikita. His advice? I am to feed them at the same time on opposite sides of the door so they can catch each others scent and associate it with a pleasant activity. Next, I'm supposed to swap territories 2 - 3 times a day. Then (the theory goes), I re-introduce the cats s-l-o-w-l-y with nose to nose and paw encounters only through a crack in the door.
Since it's just me, I have to work real hard at coordinating who is where at any given moment, then swap cats without them encountering each other in the hallway. Feeding on opposite sides of the door is the worst, since it is nearly impossible to place food and water bowls next to the very door that I've got to slip out of before a faster-than-me cat beats me to it. The first time I tried it, I stepped in the water bowl.
I tell you, this mess is wearing me out.

When my old roommates and I had 2 cats that didn't get along, we doped them on cat nip and locked them in the kitchen where there wasn't anywhere to hide. They sat 2 feet away from each other and hissed and growled for 4 hours. I don't recommend that, it didn't work.
