Swappers

The Internet (and knit bloggers in particular) is (are) wonderful. I'm so happy to have become involved with you guys -- even in a small way. One of my Knit Night pals calls her online connections her "pretend friends." Not pretend in the sense that they're fake mind you, but pretend in the sense that she's never met them and, in some way, they only exist through her keyboard and monitor.

Well, even if some of you are "pretend," the beautiful things you make and share are certainly real. I've recently made the acquaintance of a French-Canadian blogger named Denise. Not only does she knit, she also makes lampwork beads that are really impressive.

One day, while reading her English-speaking blog, I saw that she was interested in a trade: yarn for stitchmarkers. As I have an over-abundance of the former, I decided to swap some of it for the latter. The deal was made and the handpainted raspberry and blue sock yarn was off to Quebec. And look what I got in return:

Denise's handiwork.
Yup. I'll swap yarn for beautiful handmades (and surprise gifts) like this anytime!

Ohh, I am so happy that you like your markers to make a post about them. I am honored and have to ask that my part of the swap was as nice, the sock yarn is wonderful. Thank you.
