Finished At Last!

It may have taken two months to knit and two weeks to seam, but my version of Sarah Dallas' Vintage Knits Silk Ribbed Camisole is complete!

Signed, sealed and delivered last night, the recipient kindly modeled the cami -- hinting at a bit of the summer heat just past and despite the Autumn chill in these parts. It fits her to a T!

T's birthday camisole
Modifications, there were a few. As noted in a previous post, I went with the "wrong side" for the body of the cami and did stockinette up top instead of the moss stitch called for in the pattern. I didn't use Jaeger silk either, opting instead for 6 50 gram balls of yarn that was similarly textured : Plymouth Royal Bamboo, in the orange / yellow multi colorway number 18. Although the spec for that particular yarn says size 8US, I knit this baby up using approximately size 4US ebony needles.

This may have been late as a birthday gift, but the cami was right on time for my friend's trip to sunny FLA. Sometimes these things just work out :-)

Very cute! Love that color, too. I bet she was thrilled to have a new top to wear on her trip!
