A Bat Outta Hell

Yesterday was all about introspection. Today, I'm a flippin' exhibitionist.

Straights and circs have been flying around these parts, trailing skeins of yarn behind them like comets with fiery tails. Someone shot the invisible starter pistol and the race was on chez moi, bay-bee!

Ribbed Scarf

(Click picture to enlarge)
3 ounces of Dave Daniels 100% Australian Merino, color 823 on size 8US Addi Naturas. The pattern is a basic right-side k2, p2 with wrong-side purl and slipped edge stitches. Finished dimensions: 6" x 50", just right to fit inside a short jacket.

Cable Twist Hat and Scarf (Dulaan)

(Click picture to enlarge)
Four balls of Debbie Bliss Chunky Merino in gold, double-stranded. One skein of Lion Brand Woolease Chunky in grass. I had no clear pattern for either piece, other than the stitch pattern borrowed from Hello Yarn's Cable Twist Socks and some child-sizing guidance based on yarn gauge. I really did knit the hat as I went along in a k6, p2 repeat for both the left and right twist. The right twist was achieved by reversing the direction of the slipped stitch.

Cable Twist Socks

280 yard skein of Hill Country's Instant Gratification Sock Yarn in the Autumn Leaves colorway, neatly divided into two balls using my digital scale. Since these are meant as bed socks, I knit them up on 2 size 5US Addi Turbo circulars. They've been packed and shipped, but not before a frank discussion with Rocky regarding ownership of the socks.

Red Scarf Project (Number One)

(Click picture to enlarge)
One skein of Red Heart in a tweedy burgundy boucle on size 17US Lantern Moon straights. You heard me right. Red Heart. Hold your noses if you must, but the color, hand and drape is actually pretty nice. Again, no particular pattern. Just a combination of garter and lattice stitch so that the finished piece didn't come across as too dense. Finished dimensions: 6" x 60".

Although I'm knitting as fast as I can, there's much, much more to accomplish including 3 pairs of Christmas socks, another scarf and a baby kimono for a little girl due this December. Oy, the pressure! At least I have all the yarn picked out from stash.

Your work is all beautiful! I would almost bet that sparks are flying off of your needles. Your productivity puts me to shame, and you're not even back to 100% yet... I bow to you, Queen of the Needles.

You put me to shame... I've been so unproductive in every way. Looking at all the work you've accomplished makes me jealous...I think I need a nap.
