I So Need To Knit Something Green.

A light exists in spring
Not present on the year
At any other period
When March is scarcely here.

A color stands abroad
On solitary hills
That silence cannot overtake,
But human nature feels.

It waits upon the lawn;
It shows the furthest tree
Upon the furthest slope we know;
It almost speaks to me.

(Excerpt from "85" by Emily Dickinson)

I'm trying to be so very good and faithful to the other projects that, at this point, seem to be malingering on the WIP pile. No one to blame save myself of course. There's no denying it though. With the temperature rising and storm season brewing and the grass hinting at its former glory, I most definitely need to knit something green.

I'm thinking it may be time to revisit Mia (PDF) , knit up this time in Dream In Color's "Happy Forest". It would be the perfect complement to my new green and brown silk chiffon dress with the empire waist and tiny green bugle beads.

Ah, Spring!

First off, I'm having the same problem. I'm trying to be loyal to the projects in my workbasket, but another pair of socks keeps calling my name.

Secondly, I think the Mia would look gorgeous in that green.

I'm trying to good and finish up some things too, but a nice spring knit is dying to be started. The Dream in Color yarn would be heavenly in a Mia.

I saw *the light* today of the first inkling of Spring in of all places, Cook County Hospital. I saw it and I was glad.

I could not get enough of the sky!

Thanks for the poem... :)

Indeed, once completed, I think we'll need a picture of Mia WITH the tres-fab sounding dress!

My cousin's grandmother used to refer to that color as "juicy green." Squeeze away, my friend!

Definitely. Pictures. I love that colour (and the dress sounds beautiful), but couldn't wear it. Vicarious pleasure, please!

Beautiful poem, and what a beautiful green yarn! I just wrote about people needing to shake off the winter blah's myself.
