Shine On, Cider Moon
Two friends drawn together by their love of fiber and color, Gail Alsdorf and Jacki Vance-Kuss founded Ohio-based Cider Moon in 2005, quickly expanding from their fabric lines into hand-dyed roving and yarns — even chainmail jewelry.
Their yarns have names like Adagio, Champagne, Icicle, Haiku and Whisper, with each representing a particular weight, style and blend. For instance, Adagio is a bulky mohair boucle that knits up on size 13 US needles. In contrast, Haiku is a soft, lovely silk merino destined for use by size 1 US needles. And what do I have above? These are 4 skeins of Glacier, 100% Extrafine DK weight merino, cheek-soft and oh, so squishy:

A. HabaneroHeads up, all you Loopy Groupies: a selection of Cider Moon yarns will also be available through The Loopy Ewe. Way to go, Ohio!
B. Prickly Pear
C. June Carter
D. Sweet Potato Pie

I was just at their website & loving the colors. Plan to order soon - my Dad's family is from Ohio & the Buckeye color way could make some fun items for my OSU alum cousins :)
gorgeous, and it even looks so squishy! :D
Yes, but how do they SMELL?
Hey, thanks for the kind words! We're looking forward to seeing what you knit up. And the photo turned out really well - you should hear the stream of profanity I can emit when I don't get accurate colors in photos. :) Drives me batty!
Yummylicious!
Yummy! Especially that Habanero.
Ooooh, you enabled me again! Had to have some of the prickly pear. Terry :)
ps-sometimes I think when I read your blog I might be at an online store :) such pretty things to see
You're killing me, you know? :)
As an Ohioan, I've known about Cider Moon... finally broke down and ordered! LOL
I'm trying so hard to NOT buy yarn (nothing as drastic as a yarn diet! Just a need to save money), but the Prickly Pear is prickin' my finger. I have an urge to click!
