A Day In The Life

...of a blogging knitter.

I love that this little speed bump on the internets brings me into contact with so many incredible people from all over. What's even cooler is that I occasionally get to meet some of my imaginary friends in person. Friday was one such day, when Abi and her friend (and new knitter) Charleta met me at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA). Abi and her husband wind up their 6 month world tour in Chicago, then it's back to business in the UK.

Abi and Charleta
(Charleta and Abi)

After a delicious lunch at Puck's, we stopped for some delectably mandatory chocolate goodness at Ghirardelli's. Now in full sugar coma, we head off to Millennium Park to see Cloud Gate (aka "The Bean"), frolic in the sculpture garden and kick up some water in the "Faces" fountain.

Like any good knitter, we made our way to the nearest yarn shop to sit and knit with the Friday Night Regulars at Loopy Yarns.

(Abi and I meet at last!)

Oh, la. Despite today's hip and shoulder discomfort, I wouldn't trade the day for anything!

You guys look like you had a great day! I've only met a few of the bloggers I read in person. And it's always a joy. Next time I go throught Chicago, (which I do alot on my way to see my sister who lives in Milwaukee) I'll have to let you know. Maybe you could point me in the direction of the great yarns stores I've heard about there.

What fun! Your use of "Imaginary friends" had me cracking up, Karen. I always enjoy meeting up with mine, too. Through blogging, I have found a few right in my own hometown!

Though I didn't make it to Loopy Yarns or any other yarn shops (didn't even try), I have very similar pictures of the bean and that swing from my visit :)

Art, food and yarn. That reads like a perfect day -- The Bean and The Faces fountain intrigue me. But I am so sorry for/about your pain.

I almost went on Friday, too! Stupid laziness. I couldn't get out from in front of the tv to walk 2 blocks!
