Something New

Yes, I am well aware that my projects-in-progress bags and basket overfloweth. After reading your advice on how to best manage that situation, in the end I decided to not view it as a problem in need of resolution. Call it the chumps way out, but I can’t let the very thing that brought me joy become a burden. That would make me want to avoid it altogether which, to my mind, is most undesirable.

Instead of trying to manage it or corral it, I’ve hit upon setting small, achievable goals. That new car smell; the feeling of accomplishment – something that is often overlooked as a motivator. I didn’t even have to search for perfect project. The answer landed in my mailbox just the other day in the form of these adorable pom-pom peds tennis socks. A love match, of that there can be no doubt!

Something else to lift the spirits? A fresh haircut and a hot manicure. The purple-black color you see above is called Black Cherry Chutney, part of OPI’s India collection. I have six more colors to try out and I can’t wait. So, what’s your flay-va? That link takes you to the OPI studio where you can try on all of their current colors to see what’s right for you.

I must really be feeling the purples lately. When I came across beadaholique’s ‘Purple Passion’ seed bead mix, I absolutely fell in love:

It seems whenever seasons change, we crave change right along with it. So what’s new with you lately?

  • LOVIN your nails! and that opi site!
i wear a similar color on my toes, at times. i think i really must try it on my nails!
i love the reflection in your nail in that one photo.

  • Trying again.
In the second picture your polished nail looks like it wants to be a bead and be one of them. Very pretty!
Is that what it is? I’m in need of change in my life.

  • Fabulous manicure! new with me – we’re moving house and may have found a place to rent. It is so far beyond tiny as to make it miniscule except the rent but I think we might be able to live happily there for a while.

  • Oh wow, those beads!!! Gotta go check them out. Your mani is lovely, dear!
    What’s new with me? Lace…

  • Hee hee, I’m wearing purple and black today! I have been knitting lots of purple, too. Last year was green. This year is purple. And orange, maybe.

  • Love the grape and willow! And yes, the manicure is perfect. I tend to go for the pinks in the spring–just bought lots of pink this week for my garden, though none in the knitting at the moment.

  • KNAILS!!! and socks!! Two of my favorite things 🙂

  • Love the socks–and the beads and manicure too!

I swept the winter’s dust and old leaves off my back porch today, washed down the tables and chairs, and potted up some pansies. Got a haircut the other day, too! With the warmer weather I’ve gotten back into knitting socks while walking. Saw bluets while walking on the bike trail today and lots of red-winged blackbirds.

  • lovely socks, a haircut and an awesome manicure sounds like it did the trick. i hope you’re feeling better.

    your sock colors are great!

  • Cute socks! What’s new with me? Hot pink knails. I have no idea where that came from, but there you have it. The pink has officially overtaken me.

  • Those socks will be super cute! I’m loving purple these days, too.
